In a move that would have major implications for the middle east, Saudi Arabia is reportedly considering buying Israel missile defense systems. According to the online magazine Breaking Defense, the Saudis are interested in Israel’s iron dome system which focuses on intercepting short-range rockets as well as the Barak ER system, which intercepts Cruise missiles. The news comes as Saudi Arabia faces a continued onslaught of missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi Rebels. Will the Saudis eventually join their Gulf neighbors and sign on the Abraham Accord with Israel?
