After recently celebrating Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday this year, Larry wonders what he would think of the United States today. MLK Jr. Wrote a letter in 1963 from a jail in Birmingham, Alabama, to fellow clergymen, many of whom were white moderates, who didn’t want him in Birmingham because he was known as an outside agitator. In this episode, Larry draws examples from prolific Black American leaders who influenced the future generations to overcome and persevere despite any obstacles.
