‘The mob demands full and absolute capitulation or nothing’

Sky News host Chris Kenny says a stunning example has arisen in the city where George Floyd died which shows “you cannot appease the mob (as) they demand full and absolute capitulation or nothing”.

Widespread protests, violence and looting have broken out following the death of unarmed African-American man George Floyd while in police custody in America.

Mr Kenny said Jacob Frey, who “is the young, activist, Democrat mayor” of Minneapolis has been “at pains” to make it clear he “is on the side of those seeking justice and reform”.

However, Mr Frey has been criticized when he couldn’t meet the crowd’s demand to defund or effectively abolish the police in the city.

“Yep, you have to be so radical, so extreme, that you want police defunded, or you are made to run the gauntlet of a baying crowd,” Mr Kenny said.

“Ugly stuff … but it demonstrates clearly that you cannot reason with protesting mobs”.
