The fear of God is mentioned in over 120 passages in the Old and New Testaments. Maybe you’ve read them and you’re wondering to yourself, “Am I missing out on something? I mean, I love God, I worship him, I pray to him, I trust him, I obey him, but I really don’t know what it means to fear him”. Today, we’re going to spend our time shedding light on that fear because it is clear from the Bible that it’s important to God and so it should be important to us as well. In fact, God makes dozens of promises to those who fear him.
Proverbs 8:13 (NLT2) states, “All who fear the LORD will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech.”
