Sky News host Paul Murray says the United States media trend to present “garbage” on Donald Trump and ignore obvious “double standards” in their presentation of the news has continued unabated.

The NBC’s reporting on President Trump’s attempt to kickstart his campaign for re-election in November with a rally in Tulsa Oklahoma on Saturday night, threw a predictably negative slant on Trump, criticising his decision to risk exposing crowds to COVID-19.

The double standards held by the media company were brought into focus by the subsequent story covering the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone where the coronavirus risk factor posed by the occupation of an area within Seattle by a group of protesters was completely ignored by the media.

Mr Murray said for many United States broadcasting stations, “If Donald Trump is going to have people inside an arena, that means there’s going to be a COVID-bomb that goes off”.

However, “when thousands of people takeover a six-city block in the United States, it’s just normal”.
