Footage showing Democratic celebrities desperately trying to overturn the electoral college vote in 2016 once again highlights “sickening” hypocrisy, according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.

Mr Dean pointed to the multiple instances in which Democratic politicians and celebrities partook in similar actions which has resulted in widespread criticism of President Trump.

“The real joke is this relentless campaign by Trump haters to accuse him of inciting violence and insurrection,” he said.

He said figures like the current president-elect and vice president-elect, along with celebrities like Johnny Depp and Madonna, and other Democratic leaders were all “incessantly urging violence against Trump”.

“Four years ago there was absolute mayhem in Washington with black-clad mobs on the morning of Trump’s inaugural showing occupying streets, smashing storefront windows, attacking police officers, overturning trash cans in protest of what they perceived as a stolen election”.

Mr Dean also pointed to footage of celebrities urging electoral college delegates in 2016 to not abide by the results of the election, and allow Congress to choose the president.

“Does anyone remember how Democrat celebrities desperately tried to get the electoral college vote overturned,” he said.

“Yes, Democrats, just like Trump tried to, but when he does it, he’s a sore loser destroying democracy.”
