In a victory for the Second Amendment a group called The Gun Owners of America just defeated a gun control provision that was hidden deep within the pages of the latest military funding bill.  You see the way that Congress has evolved over time is that if you are a politician and you have a law which is just too controversial to pass on its own, meaning that the American people wouldn’t go along with it. What the politicians have learned to do is to essentially sneak that law in through the back door. They take the provisions of whatever unpopular law they’re trying to pass and they hide those Provisions within the text of another bill that has to pass. Which is why these bills going through Congress now wind up being as thick as several phone books stacked on top of each other.
